NEWS ON THE STREET
June 14th 2005
On Tuesday night June 7th 2005 at approximately 8 o’clock, Tresa walked
out on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium and sang her self penned song “Ain’t
Nothin Changed”, to a huge crowd of early CMA Music Festival arrivals.
The event was the International Fan Club Organization’s 38th Annual Show. That’s right folks, the three ladies fondly known as the “Johnson Sisters“, have been kicking off Fan Fair, (now known as the CMA Music Festival) for 38 years with their organization’s world famous IFCO Fun Fest Show! And what a show it was. While it is not the official opening of Fan Fair, it is the first event of the week, and Tresa was the very first artist to perform on the show. It was hosted by Nashville’s own Robert K. Oermann. Highlights included performances by Bill Anderson, Connie Smith, Trick Pony, Con Hunley, newcomer Jason Aldean, and many others. Headliner Craig Morgan and his band closed the show to a standing ovation.
As the doors opened
Thursday morning at the Nashville Convention Center, a huge crowd of fans burst
in to see their favorite artist. Tresa was on hand with her “Street Team” girls
to greet them at her newly designed booth, with a FREE Special Edition sampler
CD, new pictures, and lots of new T shirts and hats. This also
marked the official re-release on CD, of her 1996 “Baby It’s You” album . Her
label, A.M.I. rushed the release date to make sure Tresa would have CD’s
available at her booth.
With the exception of
occasionally leaving to do interviews with radio and
magazines or to perform, Tresa was at her booth throughout the four day event.
There was always a line of eager fans waiting to snap a picture with her and get
an autograph. Tresa loves her fans and was quite honored that so many came to
see her. She often stayed after closing time to visit with the last fan of the
day.
On Friday night the IFCO ladies held a “Shindig” Show at the Ernest Tubb Theater near Opryland Hotel. This too was a great show, and several of Tresa’s fans were there to see her perform. The show was hosted by country artist, john Arthur martinez and featured others such as David Ball, Kelly Lang, and Billy Yates, among others. The winners of the IFCO Center Stage Star Search, Austin Cody, Leah Durelle, and Taylor Ware, all gave crowd pleasing performances as well. After the show, fans were invited to hang out and visit with all the stars at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop, adjacent to the theater. Tresa had a super time talking with everyone there.
On Sunday, June 12th, the last day of Fan Fair (CMA Music Festival), Tresa did a 6 song set at the CMA Acoustic Corner Stage in the Nashville Convention Center. It was a packed house and everyone enjoyed the show. Tresa was accompanied by acoustic guitar players, Tom Wild and Mike Baker, and backup vocalists, Vickie Carrico, and Michael Black. Her performance included the new radio single “Rockin’ A Baby” and a new Christian Country song she wrote with co-writer Don Harp and recorded entitled “If I Died For You”. It was also featured on Tresa’s free sampler CD handed out to hundreds of fans during the week long event. It will be included in her new full length Christian Country CD scheduled for release later this year. There was a long line of fans waiting to meet her after the Acoustic Corner Show, and as always she was happy to stay and sign autographs.
All and all the CMA
Music Festival 2005 (fan fair) was a huge success and Tresa had a great time.
She was the first artist on the 38th Annual IFCO Fun Fest Show Tuesday night at the Ryman
and the last artist to sing at 3:00 PM at the Nashville Convention Center before
it closed at 4:00 PM. on Sunday. Tresa may be the only artist in the history of
Fan Fair to have the prestigious honor of being the first artist to perform and
kick-off the musical fun and the last artist to close the exhilarating four day
fan packed event. Can it get any better?
P.S. Don’t forget to enter Tresa’s big music
contest!
April 28th 2005
We are happy to announce that Tresa will be at the CMA Music Festival (Fan Fair) this year in booth # 620 and she is looking forward to seeing all her old friends as well as making lots of new ones. As usual we have some new and exciting things planed for this year. A completely redesigned booth, lots of free music, new merchandise, some great Christian Country music, and a “free money” give away contest. Click on "Contest" below to read the details on how to enter. To celebrate the conclusion of this years CMA Music Festival, Tresa has been chosen as one of the featured artists to perform a 30 minute acoustic set at 3:00 pm on Sunday in the “acoustic corner” at the Convention Center, so you will want to stop by for her show before heading home. What a great way to end your vacation. She will also be performing earlier in the week, but we don’t have all the details just yet. Check back for regular updates.
Since the huge success last year of Gretchen’s “Red Neck Woman”, Big & Rich, and the new JoDee single, country radio and the fans are lovin’ the up tempo “rockin” songs, and you know Tresa can “rock” with the best of them. So in keeping with “the times”, Tresa’s new country radio single is the rowdy, rocking, up tempo, song “Rockin’ A Baby” from the “Ain’t Nothin’ Changed CD. It will be at all the country stations soon.
As many of you know Tresa is a prolific songwriter and she writes a lot of different styles of music. In order to share some of her “Non Country” songs with her fans, we have recorded an awesome Christian song she wrote that will be released to the Christian Country radio stations soon. We have also put together several of her Bluegrass songs for a Bluegrass album that should be out in mid summer. Watch for the “Baby It’s You” CD to be available soon, and plans are underway to make Tresa’s entire music catalogue available on line, so fans can purchase and download one song at a time.
Work is continuing on the new web site and lots of new feature’s will be added over the next couple months, so check back often. As always we appreciate your friendship and Tresa is looking forward to seeing you in Nashville in June.
